Day 1 , 8 A.M. the small bus drops us somewhere on the North of the Petra area. This morning walk will take 1to 2 hours to reach El Deir this "monastery" located at the complete opposite side of the regular entrance of the Petra city area.

Pierre_dm's experience was in Wādī Mūsá, Jordan. He went on 30 of December 2007 for 3 days. He went for tourism, culture. Pierre_dm went with a group of friends. He got there and around by walking, bus or coach. Pierre_dm's verdict is: recommended.
The guide said it is just behind ... ! We are impatient and excited.
Here it is ! We are nearly alone and El Deir is standing , hung at the rock.
Day 2 , 9 AM. This time we took the regular entrance but instead of entering the Siq going to Al Khazneh we start climbing on the left in order to come from above. After 2 hours and a short break we arrived at the best spot dominating Al Khazneh. The roman theatre can also be seen but at a large distance.
After visiting most of the monuments, we entered into a narrow canyon leading, after more than an hour walking, to the entrance of the Khazneh Siq. The loop is closed.
Visiting Petra using alternate paths was a fantastic adventure !
