New Orleans is the home of jazz. It’s a place where almost every other shop is a bar that hosts musicians that play jazz, this becomes even more apparent at night when the nightlife in the city comes alive and the signature sound of jazz wafts on the airwaves.
The three man band playing at a bar in downtown New Orleans’ belted out some swinging numbers none of which I knew, but which certainly encouraged some melodious foot-tapping.
New Orleans is also famous for its vintage electric rail or trams have been a part of the city's public transportation system since the 19th century.
Personally speaking, I would say forget the taxi and hop on the best mode of transport the tram or streetcars. It was a sight that just had me in awe, as I watched the Canal Street Line seamlessly glide down the streets, looking like someone’s antique remote-control toy. The bright red carriage is reminiscent of London buses, but the buzzing sound of the electric engine says it’s a train.
New Orleans has a terrific combination of a memorable ride on the historic tram and listening to its historic signature music of jazz.
