Cheered on by my own kids we decided to take-up Tobago’s offer to visit the actual cave of Robinson Crusoe. Yes, you read right. The island of Tobago markets itself as the island that Robinson Crusoe spent his ship-wrecked days, despite the fact that he is merely a fictional character in a piece of children’s literature, right?
“Go around the outside of the runway and follow the signs” instructed the hotel clerk. So off we trundled in the hot sun, around the runway to where the sign-posts were. But, there were no signs. There were no people to ask for directions, but being intrepid explorers we continued the breathe of the runway. A sign came into sight “Crusoe Villa’s”, hmm, did Crusoe really build some villa’s here too even though he’s someone’s imaginary friend?
