We were just driving along taking in the green scenic views of the countryside of Dallas when my brother-in-law said, “We’re here!” A ranch in the distance looked familiar and then the theme song hit me.. “Dallas” the hit series played in my head. Suddenly the serene countryside became a Hollywood icon as we passed through the ranch gates with the huge arched sign on top that read, “Southfork”.

Nadia's travel blog in Dallas, United States. She went on 19 of July 2005 for 1 day. She went for tourism. Nadia went with a group of friends. She got there and around by car or van. Nadia's travel verdict is: not bad.
We parked and went to the indoor reception area where the wall had huge black and white photo-posters of the characters and leading off of that was the Dallas TV series souvenir shop. There were all sorts of trinkets and memorabilia to buy with the cast on it. We were too late for the tour through the actual Southfork house where they filmed the series but we were able to go out to the ranch enclosure and look at the house which majestically sits on over one hundred thousand acres of land.
It turned an ordinary sightseeing day out in Plano, Texas into a piece of glitzy Hollywood. Who knows I could have walked in the same footsteps as JR Ewing did or driven down the same driveway as Pam Ewing in her red convertible Mercedes. But most of all my-dream of bumping into thee hunk of the show Bobby Ewing was ever hopeful!

Having watched every single episode of Dallas, I can truthfully say that I am green with envy. I have always wanted to go to
Southfork to pay my respects. How far is it from the city of Dallas? By the way, I once had luncheon with Linda Gray (Sue Ellen): she was very charming. And she only drank mineral water...

It's 20 miles north of downtown Dallas. Linda Gray with mineral water - so unlike the character of boozy Sue Ellen.
