When on holiday in the Caribbean you tend to try and fill your days with a variety of things to do and things to see, but the best part of any vacation that’s based in the islands comes just before evening…a Caribbean sunset.
The heat of the sun lessens and it slowly sinks into the blue of the sea leaving behind it a trail of pinks, lavenders and rosy oranges sweeping across the clouds.
Our experience in Store Bay, Tobago left us sitting on the evening beach, our toes sunken in the wet sand as the high tide washed over our feet periodically. As the sun starting going down it was if we were looking through polaroid lenses as a magical pastel painting took place before our very eyes.
The boats which were moored in the shallow waters became mystical silhouettes as we watched stick figures of men dive from the boats making a splash in the water. Couples on the beach started to pack up as the evening grew cooler. We walked to the steps that led us off the beach, the deeper yellow sand, the sea washing away the footprints we left behind. It was a prefect end to a perfect day.
