I am a wannabe author living in the south of France. I hope to share some of my experiences in what is to many, almost an alien culture.
It's fair to say I have had my own troubles adapting to French culture. For example, ALL the shops shut at 7:30 in the evening. If you forget to buy something during the day (except between 12:00 and 2:30, when they are also shut) you are out of luck. Having spent the last ten years living in the USA, that's a major adjustment.
