Madisteps's travel blog in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina. She went on 26 of May 2007 for 1 day. She went for adventure, get closer to nature. Madisteps went with a group of friends. She got there and around by car or van, walking, bus or coach. madisteps's travel verdict is: you must go here.

Iguazu Falls is an energizing natural wonder. Puerto Iguazu is mainly a sleepy mountain town with barbecues on the street corner and a few tourist shops. It is a peaceful place to stay while visiting the falls.

The vast multiple waterfalls of Iguazu are spectacular. The power of the chocolate colored flushing water is intense and exploring the flora and fauna around the trails makes for a truly earthly experience.

The falls are located in a lush national park littered with trails of all difficulty levels and countless dreamy views. There are spots to get soaked but also plenty of ways to avoid the spray. I suggest taking extra clothes if you are the daredevil type. Also, take snacks for a picnic- there are restaurants in the park, but they are expensive.

I visited the falls in late May, and the weather was still warm. In the hotter months the bugs are said to be insufferable but I had no problems and the bugs really love me.

You won't find fancy dining here so I suggest buying food at the supermarkets, or find a neighborhood asado (bbq). There are tons of good hostels and hotels that you do not need to book in advance.

Looks like a super place to get wet! Thanks for the tips.
I really wanted to go here on my visit to Argentina but there is just too much to see.
I thought this might be a tourist trap (he said grumpily of what is clearly a stunning attraction) but I don't see too many people in your photos and boy it looks worth it.
Was it busy when you went?

Well Hugo...you'll have to make another trip to Argentina! As long as you don't go in the peak months (like in spring and fall) there aren't a lot of people at all. I certainly wouldn't go December- February as the heat and the mosquitos will surely lessen the enjoyment.
