I contemplated writing this straight after I got back from the beer festival last night, but after my fourth attempt at spelling CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale), decided it was probably a task best left 'til the morning.
The festival is held yearly at the impressively large Earls Court Exhibition Centre, literally one minute's walk from the tube station.
When the queue for the gents is at least three times as long as that for the ladies, you know you're somewhere interesting.
With more flavours than you could shake a large bearded man at, there was beer to suit all tastes. The jury's still out for my favourite, but I can tell you it's between Rooster, of north-east origin, or Bananatana, of French descent.
All in all, a hearty experience I'd gladly recommend. There's none of the loutish behaviour you might associate with a lager equivalent of this festival and it's fascinating to watch, listen or even talk to some of the experts roaming around.

I'm afraid it's not really my area of expertise RB- but I'm sure you'll be able to find something...
And jonnysevs, I was encouraged and eventually bribed to go but I won't need any such incentives next year!

The CAMRA beer festival is in BATH this week if you're really keen. The Royal Oak on the lower Bristol Road is the place to be with live music every night!
