Milan is a wonderful blend of old and new. You can turn the corner off a street of super stylish designer shops and suddenly find yourself faced with some ancient Roman pillars.

Lucysoff's experience was in Milan, Italy. She went on 15 of March 2006 for 1 day. She went for tourism, culture, shopping. Lucysoff went with a partner. She got there and around by walking, train, airplane or helicopter. lucysoff's verdict is: recommended.
There’s about a million things on the tick-list for Milan so prepare well and save-up! This place isn’t cheap! The cathedral made the biggest impression. It’s the second biggest Gothic cathedral in the world and really takes your breath away.
You can climb right up to the top and the views are well worth the expended energy. Mark Twain describes it much better than I ever could…”What a wonder it is! So grand, so solemn, so vast! And yet so delicate, so airy, so graceful! A very world of solid weight, and yet it seems ...a delusion of frostwork that might vanish with a breath!”
Some of my other highlights were the Science Museum (see my other Milan experience), the Central Park, the train station (which is another architectural feat) and the ice-cream. All they say about Italian ice-cream is true.
So, even if shopping ain’t your bag baby, Milan has plenty to offer.
