Milan is a wonderful place to visit…but there’s an awful lot of old stuff (see my other experience here). If, like me and my boyfriend, you get a little tired of oohing and aahing over the ancient wonders, why not take a little stroll to the Science Museum where you can marvel over some more recent wonders.

Lucysoff's travel blog in Milan, Italy. She went on 15 of March 2006 for 4 days. She went for tourism, culture, shopping. Lucysoff went with a partner. She got there and around by walking, train, airplane or helicopter. lucysoff's travel verdict is: recommended.
You’ll still get your dose of culture; the museum is actually set in the 16th-century "Edificio Monumentale", a beautiful old monastery. This makes the whole experience even more exciting than it already is, as every corner yields a new architectural delight.
There are loads of permanent exhibitions- we didn’t have time to see them all but I particularly enjoyed the transport ones- lots of cars, trains, planes, ships and even a submarine!
There’s also an incredible Leornado da Vinci exhibition, with literally hundreds of models of his designs.
The museum’s really easy to find and very reasonably priced. Have a look at the excellent website for more details. http://www.museoscienza.org/english/Default.asp

I know what you mean, sometimes the cathedrals, palaces, towers and castles can get a bit exhausting. It is refreshing to see what is "modern" and innovative in Europe. They are, and always have been, at the cutting edge at what is new and innovative. It is exciting to see and shouldn't be overlooked while in Europe! It all connects, the new and the old....that is what makes it all so exciting.
