Lucysoff's experience was in Whitby, United Kingdom. She went on 02 of June 2007 for 1 day. She went for beach, business, nightlife. Lucysoff went with an adult family. She got there and around by car or van, walking. lucysoff's verdict is: recommended.

Whitby’s ace. If you want somewhere to go in the north east for some good clean fun, then this is the place for you. It even has morris dancing just next to the pier.

I thought these were morris dancers, but they're actually pirates! Oh well!

I visited earlier this year with my parents and my sister and we had such a great time. We arrived and parked easily enough. It was a chilly day, very windy, but it didn’t matter too much.

The views are fabulous and, looking inland, if you raise your eyes above the tourist level and look at the classic sea front houses, you can really transport yourself back a few however-many years. Ah, the tourists.

There’s lots to do here. Getting some famous fish and chips has to be high on the list. We braved the pier with ours and it was definitely worth it. Guilt ridden and disgracefully full, my sister and I ran down onto the beach and went for a (very brief) paddle.

A little stint in the arcades is also entertaining- there are plenty of 2 penny machines you can waste a pound on. An ice cream and a cheeky game of crazy golf are the perfect ways to round off this trip. There’s loads more to do around here as well- lots of quaint shops, some lovely walks, the abbey on the hill, the Dracula museum and a trip out one of the imitation pirate boats who play jaunty sea tunes. Arrggghhh.

This is when mum and dad started refering to us as 'the children'- I think we all regressed a little into our past that day!
