Hugo's experience was in Whistler, Canada. He went on 01 of January 1999 for 2 days. He went for adrenaline, pampering or indulgence, get closer to nature. Hugo went with a group of friends. He got there and around by airplane/helicopter. Hugo's verdict is: life changing.

I had only been a helicopter once before, so the mere thought of a helicopter ride in the mountains was exciting enough. But to to go heli-skiing was a dream come true.

I believe that Whistler is one of the cheaper (in context) and best places to take a day in a chopper. Whilst it was expensive it was also not too bad in the context of the whole holiday...it certainly was worth it. We even went back for a second day and would have taken out a mortgage to do so. These were my best days skiing ever.

The snow was not perfect (a touch of crust here and there) but the exhilaration and excitement of heli-skiing cannot be under estimated. When you are on top of a fresh mountain, the helicopter has dropped away from the summit in front of your eyes and you have wiped the layer snow off your goggles...silence, unfeasibly good views and an empty mountain for your guide to lead you down. Quite awesome.

There is only one, not to be underestimated problem: once you have experienced heli-skiing as good as this and made fresh tracks by chopper there is no question you are spoilt. Watch out you don't get addicted.

Ay very good. Who's that dork at the back of the picture with the ridiculous red puffa jacket who looks like he's just had a major wipe out?
