Hugo's travel blog in Mpulungo, Zambia. He went on 15 of July 1991 for 3 days. He went for tourism, adventure, get closer to nature. Hugo went with a group of friends. He got there and around by boat or ferry. Hugo's travel verdict is: life changing.

The most epic boat journey of my life (which isn't saying much in itself) started in Mpulungu, Zambia. Will, Maia, Lucy and I had to wait around for 5 days because the boat was running a little late...

The boat did come and then we had around 48 hours, I think, to get to our destination of Kigoma, where we would change to a local boat to get to Gombe Stream to see the Chimps.

The journey started as meant to carry on with a WWF landrover being slung onto the boat along with another landrover that got bashed into the side of the main boat cabin. Oops.

Anyhow, the boat journey itself was a gripping people watching and scenery gawping experience. The boat got fuller and fuller and fuller until you thought nothing else could possibly be sqeezed on...

Anyhow the pictures will never do justice to the magificent people and scenery of Lake Tanganyika but at least they give you a flavour of the ride.

A bit more detailed people watching and general noseyness...
