The Eildon hills have always beckoned to me. The hills poke out above the flat landscape of the SW borders landscape and you just have to wonder what the views are like from the top. As it happens it is a fun pre-Sunday lunch walk taking 2-4 hours and is recommended.....for the views (and building up an appetite for Sunday lunch).

Melrose is a pretty Scottish Borders town with a few sites like the Abbey to detain you

Tip: take any chance to can for a rest!
Follow the paths...the route to the top of the Eildons isn't that tricky to find...
The views and the prospect of the views from the top will keep you going (maybe).

Getting to the top of hills is sooo satisfying! Looks like you deserved that great view from on top - those steps just seem to go on forever into the distance! Great job!
