I had a wonderful new year celebration at home in Scotland.
All you need are some close chums, a bonfire and a little trumpet juice/ alcohol to help defeat the rain. For me the combo was unbeatable.
Happy new year to all.

Hugo's experience was in Greenlaw, United Kingdom. He went on 26 of December 2007 for 7 days. He went because he lives here and for peace & quiet, get closer to nature. Hugo went with a group of friends. He got there and around by walking, airplane or helicopter. It is hugo's favorite place.

Scotland is a weird and wonderful place on the edge of the planet - and also extremely beautiful, despite beastly weather. It is very famous for a festivity referred to as " HogMonay."
I am not sure what HogMonay is all about - perhaps it involves bonfires and alcohol to stave off the cold?

Indeed, we didn't exactly do "Hogmonay", which involves first-footing your neighbours doorsteps and bringing lumps coal.
Actually, as always, Wikipedia is worth checking out on this as it tells you about the local customs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogmanay
It seems we did our own thing and perhaps we should have been more sensitive to local customs, they sound fun....maybe next year!
