Deanshapiro's travel blog in London, Uk, United Kingdom. He went on 28 of January 2008 for 8 days. He went for adventure. Deanshapiro went with just me. He got there and around by airplane or helicopter. Deanshapiro's travel verdict is: life changing.

Its been 5 years since i last walked the streets of london. The last time i was here i was just another working guy, trying to save some pounds to travel. Two years down the line i had met amazing friends and experianced amazing adventures. It was 2003 when i left my working holiday in london and now 2008 i have returned to visit this beautiful, magical , life changing place.

Ever since i left london 5 years ago, i have held onto the thought of one day returning and finally i am here. The london tubes greeted me as i left Heathrow airport and headed North East to Rectory Road. I am staying with a great friend Gabi. Stepping into the cold london streets, coming from hot South African summer was quite a shock, but i love every bit of it. The hundreds of people passing me by remind me what a great place this is. Different languages spoken at every corner, through every bar remind me that im in the internation city of the world.

I am only here for 1 week, mainly to see my old friends and reminisce in my past life. I really want to come back here after my travels and stay here permanently. i really believe this is the greatest city in the world. So, my journey begins in london and soon i am to fly to Thailand where i will meet up with a friend of mine who has been traveling for the past year. I then want to go live and work in cambodia. Now, everyone i mention this to, always asks me 'Why Cambodia?' and i just cant explain it. I guess ine will just have to follow me on this adventure and experiance it with me. This is my journey, this is my adventure.

Hmm...Phuket or Putney? Give me the blue sky and the space to breathe any day. But I'm a Londoner, so I might be biased!

Hey Dean - great to be reading your stories. Its nice hearing accounts of the city from people that arn't stuck here! No really, I think we take it for granted. Enjoy Cambodia - get back for another sweeping visit soon!! xx
