<title>A day at a volcano ( by RichC in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala )</title>
<description>Volc&#225;n de Pacaya is alive, it spits out lava every few weeks and you can climb it in a day. What else did I need to know? Well, quite a lot actually but it turned out I got lucky on the day.

The no frills tour dropped us at the start point. Bleary-eyed so early in the morning, I began following the other climbers. A paved path up a shallow gradient shaded by trees &#8211; easy! I&#8217;d be back by lunch.

<title>Childrens Day in Guatemala ( by Rplum in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala )</title>
<description>Have you ever seen a bunch of kids scrambling in an absolutely frenzy?

I witnessed a mad event near Antigua in Guatemala where I had been volunteering for some time. I was fortunate to be in Guatemala for a special day of the year known as Children&#8217;s Day... the one day of the year which is devoted to the happiness of children in the country. Wealthier city people donate presents and toys to be given to the kids out into the country.</description>

<title>Volcan Acatenango ( by lucysoff in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala )</title>
<description>Climbing Volcan Acatenango was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.
We left very early having packed and sorted who was carrying what the night before and all squashed into the pick-up for the steep ride to our drop-off point. I remember the journey being very quiet- a combination of the early hour and nerves I think.
A quick brief from our guide about drinking plenty and taking it steady and we were off.
