Rocamadour : Half-way up a Cliff ( by maandt in Rocamadour, France, France )

I love off the beaten track places. Although Rocamadour is visited by thousands of pilgrims yearly, it is not in the league of popular major cities such as Paris or Madrid. In fact there is no train connection directly to this place. We had to go down Brive La Gaillard and take a cab for an almost one hour trip just to reach this beautiful hidden city up the mountains.

Brive-la-Gaillarde is a tiny city in the Lot/Dordogne Valley.
During the second world war, it was a regional capital of the Resistance. This medieval place is mainly a commercial district with retail shops and various cafés.

Half-way up a cliff in the deep and abrupt canyon of the Alzou stream, the spectacular setting of ROCAMADOUR is hard to beat.

Rocamadour is found in the Lot district of southwest France. It is a place familiar to lovers of fine dining and rich history.

The breath taking sites and natural setting have made Rocamadour France's second-most visited site (after Mount St. Michael, Normandy). Rocamad...

Exploring the Louvre ( by Hollie-Miller in Paris, France )

I have been to Paris several times but one of my most enjoyable days there was when my sister and I toured the Louvre. It really is a remarkable place packed full of some of the most interesting collections I have ever seen.

Nice - <insert-cliched-"very nice indeed"-gag-here> ( by lenoz in Nice, France )

We visited Nice after a very rainy and miserable couple of days in Marseille, so we were very much ready for some better weather that might restore our faith in our idealistic British visions of the south coast of France. We’d started with a scare too – the weather in Marseille on the morning we left had suddenly become glorious, and we feared that we might be running away from the good weather just as we had done coming from Paris to Marseille. We were kept in suspense too, the train seemed to be travelling down the precise line where miserable grey clouds and clear blue skies met, and it remained impossible to tell what Nice would hold in store. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint – lovely and sunny!
